Ainsley Salsbury is a Brisbane Psychologist who began her career in the Human Resources field. As a result, she has an intimate and hands-on knowledge of workplace and organisational dynamics and how these can impact psychological issues.
Previously, Ainsley has worked within the mining and rural sectors, as well as over a decade in Melbourne, where she worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds: from Corporate Executives, lawyers and accountants to those in manufacturing, correctional services, health, retail and government. Her work has taken her around Australia and on international assignment.
Ainsley Salsbury: Psychological Wellbeing for Individuals, Teams & Organisations
Ainsley is passionate about working with clients to help them make healthy and adaptive work and life decisions, particularly during times of change or transition. The world and the workplace is ever changing and it can feel very overwhelming trying just to “keep up” let alone take some degree of control of your own decisions, when the goal posts seem to keep moving. In fact, Ainsley has undertaken specific thesis research in this field around Decision Making in Ever Changing and Dynamic environments, and is able to transfer these principles practically and assist others to work through these issues.
Working within a Cognitive Behavioural framework, Ainsley tailors creative, customised and solution focused approaches to both individual and group counselling. She is able to draw on a range of therapeutic techniques with her clients, including:
- Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy;
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy;
- Interpersonal Therapy;
- Multi-Modal Therapy;
- Self Instruction Therapy.
Ainsley has a down to earth and practical approach to counselling, and is passionate about working with clients to identify, explore and address the factors which are frustrating them in their attempts to achieve their work and life goals.
She believes that it is possible to alleviate the distress and disappointment we experience from time to time in our professional and personal lives, by investigating the underlying emotions. These can cloud our ability to problem solve effectively and make it more difficult to adjust to the set of circumstances presented to us. She counts it a privilege to partner with individuals as they navigate their practical and emotional challenges, in such a way as to minimise psychological suffering and alleviate distress.
